What we did

We’re making changes so it’s safer for you no matter how you get around your local neighbourhood. We’re lowering the speed limits on some roads and installing new parking restrictions at The Landing.

Changing 60 kilometres per hour speed limits to 50 kilometres per hour on these roads:

  • Owaka Road from Awatea Road to Zinnia Way
  • Wilmers Road from Awatea Road to Little Gem Road
  • Awatea Road from Wigram Road to Wilmers Road
  • Wigram Road from Awatea Road to Hayton Road

Changing  50 kilometres per hour speed limits to 40 kilometres per hour in these areas:

  • Wigram Skies
  • Lodestar Avenue  (including the business area)
  • Stark Drive  (including the business area)
  • Broken Run subdivision
  • Awatea Park subdivision
  • Awatea Green subdivision
  • Magnolia Estate subdivision

Making some changes at The Runway at The Landing:

  • Changing the 50 kilometres per hour speed limits to 30 kilometres per hour

Parking restrictions

  • We're proposing to install P60 parking restrictions on The Runway in the shopping area between Skyhawk Road and the pedestrian crossing point. This will help support businesses with better turnover.
  • We're also proposing to install no parking restrictions on both sides of Skyhawk Road between The Runway and Mackay Street. This is to stop cars parking in the cycle lanes.

What we asked

Is there anything we need to know before carrying out these changes?

For speed limits and parking restrictions to be effective, they need to be understood and supported by the community.

That’s why we want to hear from you.
