If you see stock wandering uncontrolled on a road or in a public area contact the Council immediately to contain or impound the stock. If you have lost or found stock please report the animals by phoning 03 941 8999.

The Council’s Animal Management team operates and maintains pound facilities for the impoundment of stock (sheep, horses, pigs, cattle or goats) and provides a service for seizure, impoundment and termination of unclaimed trespassing and wandering stock.

Please note that the Council does not impound poultry.

Unclaimed stock

Where impounded stock remains unclaimed, the Council must advertise that stock as unclaimed and must auction the animal on an advertised date and time.

Auctions are advertised through a public notice in a local newspaper at least a week prior to the auction. Auctions are also displayed on the notice board outside the stock pound at 10 Metro Place, Bromley.

Auctions may be infrequent and are dependent on the number of impounded animals.
