Potentially co-located with Hornby High School, the proposed South West Leisure Centre will provide for the existing community and support neighbourhood renewal.

The facility's scope is currently being determined; it may include a new aquatic facility, sports grounds, a community and care centre, plus indoor and all-weather facilities.

The Council is taking the "hubbing" approach to new facilities – co-locating a range of community services in one hub, easily accessible via walking, cycling and public transport routes. Once the project is underway, construction would likely take around two years.
