Explore the Port Hills on foot, by bike or driving. From bush-clad gullies to rocky outcrops with magnificent views these seven locations offer great diversity.
More Port Hills tracks are opening however some tracks remain temporarily closed and others are only partially open. Closed tracks are:
All Ohinetahi Reserve tracks, Kennedys Bush Track, Worsley Spur Track, and Old Dyers Pass Rd MTB Track.
Part of the Crater Rim Walkway between Ella's Track and Mt Cass.
As tracks become accessible to the public we will continue to update these pages.
Some tracks on the Port Hills are still closed following the Canterbury earthquakes in 2011: Heathcote Quarry Track and Whitewash Head Track. The Flowers Track is open and Taylors Track from 121 Taylors Mistake Road to Taylors Mistake Beach.
Check the track status for shared-use and dedicated bike tracks.
