Description

The Brooklands Lagoon Walk starts beside the observation platform looking out over the lagoon.

The track follows the lagoon to a second observation platform and continues around the estuary edge. Stop by the bird hide for a rest and to view birds out on the lagoon.

Continuing along the walk, you will have beautiful views of the lagoon, flora and wildlife who make the area home.

The track will eventually bring you out onto Beacon Street where you will take a short roadside detour up part of Anfield, Charon and Chalford Streets before re-entering the lagoon environment.

The track finishes on Harbour Road. Return the way you came or continue onto Blue Lagoon Drive and walk up to the Styx River Mouth Conservation Reserve. From here you can join ECan's Te Rauakaaka Track(external link) and - for the very keen - continue all the way to McLeans Forest(external link) via Templars Trail(external link).
