Sockburn Well-Head Upgrades

What

Our contractor will be upgrading the well heads on Main South Road so the local Sockburn pump station can supply un-chlorinated drinking water.

Why

The water from the pump station is currently being treated with chlorine. Once this work is completed, the water will no longer need chlorine treatment.

Where

Sockburn pump station, between Main South Road and Blenheim Road.

When

Work will start 24 June until mid-October 2019.

The contractor is Seipp Construction Ltd. Phone Greg Valentine (03-423-1718) between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Advise us if you have specific property access requirements e.g medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries, planned works.

  • Work will be undertaken at the Sockburn pump station over the next 2 months, upgrading two below-ground well heads.
  • The work will allow the pump station to supply residents and businesses in the area with safe, un-chlorinated drinking water.
  • No traffic impacts are expected, as all works will be contained inside the pump station area, located between Main South Road and Blenheim Road (please refer to map).
  • Please note there are four other wells which relate to the Sockburn Pump station and Start Work notices will be issued before works commence on these other well repairs and their locations.
