Join local historian Richard Greenaway on a tour of the Anglican section of Barbadoes Street Cemetery, with visits to the graves of Bishop Harper and his family, the first generation of the Deans family and a captain who caused the tragic wreck of his ship in 1881.
Richard Greenaway (M.A. (Honours in History), University of Canterbury, 1972) has taken cemetery tours during Heritage Week/Festival since 1994.
From 1980 to 2015 he was Reference Librarian, Aotearoa New Zealand Centre, Christchurch City Libraries, and is the author of two books for Christchurch City Libraries:
Greenaway received the A.C. Rhodes Medal from the Canterbury History Foundation in 2008.
