Lyttelton is known for its stunning views, quaint but earthquake ravaged township, and producing extraordinary artists. The Lyttelton Arts Festival is being created to celebrate our vibrant and eclectic artists and showcase the amazing entertainment and hospitality venues Lyttelton has to offer, and with over 30 artists across 7 locations, we hope it will do just that.

Lyttelton Arts Festival will be featuring theatre by local artists, including Ben Brown presenting ‘Ma Te Wa - A Moment in Time’, while Joe Bennett will read you ‘Eight of his Favourite Poems’.

Live music from Anthea de Milo and Band, Buda and Anita Clark ‘Plays Buda’, and Hollie Smith.

Buskers Sport Suzie and Minnie Maniac will take to the streets, and workshops in dance, theatre, toi principles, and circus are on offer for those wanting to delve into their own artistic side.

Saturday night the ‘Have a LAF Variety Show’ provides world-class performers glued together by MC Shay Horay, guaranteeing you a cracker night of buskers, thespians, jokers, and acrobats that is sure to sell out.

If you’re after a family event, Saturday provides daytime theatre shows at LAF, with ‘Superhero Circus’ from acclaimed Rollicking Entertainment, and ‘Mr Fungus’ from Fergus Aitkin, or on Sunday enjoy a ‘Heisenburger’ while you watch a family movie, screened thanks to Dead Video.

It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be fresh, and it’ll certainly be a whole lot of Lyttelton!
