Living History Walk

Join a walking tour celebrating the history of our inner-city, based around archives and library resources held by Christchurch City Council.

This is a joint event between Christchurch City Council Archives and the Tuakiri Local History staff at Tūranga Central Library. We will be drawing on resources from both collections to help illustrate points of interest in our city's history.

The tour will start from Tūranga up to Victoria Square, along Oxford Terrace to the Bridge of Remembrance, up to Rhododendron Island, Cashel Street and the Triangle area, and back through Cathedral Square to Tūranga.

People can see the history of the city through photos, maps and plans from both collections at points of interest.

In case of very bad weather, this will be moved to a talk in the library.
