Crafted skillfully by John Menzies, the John Henry Menzies Stanford Family Pātaka Cabinet shows the influence of designer William Morris and the appropriation of Māori art forms by pākehā.

Historian Janet Abbott will discuss Menzies's work in terms of the principles of the Arts and Crafts movement, and discuss how these were applied in this country.

The talk takes place in the Philip Carter Family Auditorium at the Art Gallery.
