He is an acclaimed entertainer and piano man with a fabulous voice. Looking forward to a real treat here.

9 August: Carrie Zhang – mezzo-soprano and Chris Archer – piano

After a successful performance and teaching journey with professional/award-winning organisations such as the San Francisco Symphony, Opera Parallel, American Bach Soloist, San Francisco Girls Chorus, Ms Zhang returns home to Christchurch from the San Francisco Bay Area for her inaugural concert.

Together with our very own Chris Archer, they are excited to bring selections of Spanish song alongside rarely performed songs by American composer Aaron Copland.

23 August: Douglas Mews – harpsichord, Mark Menzies – violin and Tomas Hurnik – cello

Originally from the Czech Republic, Tomas is a great advocate of Baroque Music and the mastermind behind The Beautiful World of Baroque Music Trust here in Christchurch.

Mark Menzies has been described as an extraordinary musician and a riveting violinist. He is Head of Performance Music at the University of Canterbury.

Having studied and performed in Europe over many years we are thrilled to welcome Wellington organist, pianist and composer Douglas Mews to the Great Hall.
