Area 51 Futuro House Open Day

Book your free ticket to visit the Area 51 Futuro house in Ōhoka. Dress in a 1970s costume and enter our photo competition to win a night in the Futuro House.

It's 50 years since two Futuro Houses welcomed guests to the 1974 Christchurch Commonwealth Games, but there's so much more quirky history to discover.

Newly listed with Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga as a Category 1 Heritage Place, this open day is a chance for owner, Nick McQuoid, and Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga staff to share the history of this innovative modular building.

Book your free tickets and dress up in your best 70s gear. Nick is kindly offering a prize of one night's free accommodation for a couple or family who send in the best Futuro/costume photo from the day.

Spot prizes on the day for groovy outfits.

Please park considerately along McRoberts Road.
