Working with plant specimens foraged from our surrounding environment, the weekend will explore the old practice of keeping a nature journal.

We will look at different examples and techniques beginning with drawing and introducing ink, watercolour and watercolour pencils throughout the weekend.

Traditionally, a nature journal also includes a small amount of writing. Like your visual studies, we will discuss a style that best suits you.  It may be jotting down a few factual notes about the subject you are working with, or it may be observational, personal or even poetic.

The beauty of the nature journal is that it's a chance for you to create a slow and mindful practice that you can do from anywhere.

All the materials that you will need to use in class are included in your fee and you will also be provided with a take-home journal to get you started.

Beginners are welcome.
