There are so many much loved highlights: Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story live with film, Holst Planets, Saint-Saens Organ Symphony conducted by returning favourite Hamish McKeich, Stravinsky Firebird, Respighi The Pines of Rome complete with Woolston Brass, Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No 4 and the list continues.
CSO Presents series is filled with familiar favourites such as The Last Night of the Proms with Brian Law, Festive Christmas, family classic Peter and The Wolf, which will be performed in English, Te Reo Māori and special relaxed performances, A Night at the Movies and other epic concerts.
2019 Studio series is presented in the Ron Ball Studio situated in the CSO’s new home within the Town Hall. Celebrating the talents of the musicians of the orchestra, each one hour programme has been curated by the players themselves and provides a fascinating insight to their own musical inspirations.

Music Trails through the Library are a series of interactive 45-minute live performances in various libraries by CSO ensembles. Featuring the different orchestral instruments from the string, brass, woodwind and percussion families, the performances include elements of singing, dancing, and storytelling created especially for 2-6 year olds.
These engaging performances are a great way to introduce the little ones to live music and the instruments of the orchestra.
