Proposed grant of lease

South New Brighton Park proposed lease for Pleasant Point Yacht Club

This is a public notice in accordance with the requirements of section 54(2) of the Reserves Act 1977 (Act) that the Council is proposing to grant a ground lease to the Pleasant Point Yacht Club on part of South New Brighton Park to construct a new club rooms, boat shed and hard surface apron. This is to replace the Club’s former facilities at Rat Island which were destroyed in the 2010/11 earthquakes.

The proposed activity is considered in the South New Brighton Reserves Management Plan 2014.

Officers will be recommending to the Council that it grant a lease to Pleasant Point Yacht Club Incorporated pursuant to the requirements of section 54(1)(b) of the Act over approximately 1109 square metres of land described in Schedule A below for a period up to 33 years. South New Brighton Park comprises 57.0228 hectares in total area.

Schedule A
Lease approximately 1109 square metres of Reserve 4874 held in 8k/989 a classified recreation reserve of 12.2417 hectares vested in the Christchurch City Council pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977.

Any person or organisation wishing to either make a submission or object to the proposed lease over part of the reserve described in this notice may do so in writing no later than 5pm, Thursday 28th January 2016 to the person whose contact details appear above. Submitters should indicate in their submission if they wish to appear before a Reserve Hearings Panel to be heard in support of their submission or objection.
