The Christchurch City Council is meeting on Thursday 6 December at 9.30am. The main items on the agenda for the public part of the meeting are:

  • Reports from all the Community Boards outlining the major issues and projects happening in their areas.
  • A report from the Spreydon-Cashmere Community Board recommending the Council make changes on Barrington Street to make it safer and easier for people to access Barrington Mall.
  • Recommendations from the Fendalton-Waimairi-Harewood and Papanui-Innes Community Boards on the Harewood Road corridor study findings. The corridor study was undertaken to help identify priorities for intersection improvements and renewals works.
  • A report from the Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board recommending the Council lower the speed limit on a number of streets in the Templeton area. The lower speed limits have been requested by the community.
  • A report from the Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community board recommending the Council approve a speed limit change from 50kmh to 40kmh on the streets within the Knights Stream and Longhurst subdivisions.
  • A report from the Linwood-Central-Heathcote Community Board which recommends the Council grant the Canterbury Horticultural Society a five-year lease for the Botanic Gardens Tea Kiosk building.
  • A report seeking Council’s approval of a draft submission on the National Disaster Resilience Strategy.
  • Reports from the Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board recommending the Council allow Kea Crossings to be used outside Wigram Primary School and Knights Stream School.
  • A report which recommends the Council makes changes to its committee structure.
