Mayor Lianne Dalziel has sent a big “thank you” to the people of Christchurch for helping shape the city’s future by providing feedback on the draft Long Term Plan (LTP).

Hundreds of people have had their say, with more than 1500 submissions on the draft LTP, which sets out the Christchurch City Council’s work programme and priorities for the next 10 years.

The Council has just completed the LTP hearings, addressed by 200 individuals and 180 groups.

All the feedback has been processed and analysed to help inform the decisions we need to make.

“We appreciate all the efforts of city residents and groups who have taken part in such an important consultation process,” the Mayor says.

“We face some difficult decisions as we rebuild our city while also trying to contain rates.

“We appreciate your input – no matter what side of any issue you were on.

“We go into this process with an open mind, determined to do the best that we can for our city.”

The LTP will be finalised in June, prior to the setting of rates for the next financial year.
