Get involved with your community by supporting local events or programmes like New Year's Eve, Sparks, Summer Theatre or Culture Galore and other larger city-wide events. Our volunteers are crucial to making these programmes and events happen.

Volunteering is a great way to get involved with the events you love. Volunteers are needed on a case-by-case basis for specific events to help with setting up, preparing activities and assisting the event organisers.

Volunteers can be individuals or groups depending on the event, so please outline which events you would like to take part in and at what capacity.

Police vetting

As part of being a volunteer for Council, you are required to be vetted by the Police within the last 3 years.

Do you hold a current NZ Police Vetting check?

Please complete and attach an NZ Police Vetting application form(external link).

Alternatively, this can be completed at a later date by emailing it to EventsProductionTeam@ccc.govt.nz.

Please note that Police Vetting checks can take up to 6 weeks to be completed.
