Eco Design Advisors provide free, independent, expert advice on new home design and renovation. Advice is available for homeowners, home designers, builders and industry professionals.

The benefits

Backed by the Building Research Association of New Zealand (BRANZ), Eco Design Advisors have access to specialists, design tools, assessment methods and building material information.  They are advocates for creating healthier buildings, improving energy, water and material use, minimising waste, and reducing the environmental impact of buildings.

An Eco Design Advisor will help you:

  • design a warm, dry, healthy and efficient home
  • reduce your environmental impact
  • save money on energy bills
  • increase your home's resale value
  • understand your options and how to ask for what you want
  • take advantage of programmes like Build Back Smarter and Energywise (external link) .

Our Eco Design Advisors are qualified Homestar (external link)  assessors. They can rate the environmental features of your home and verify it's performance for you and potential buyers.

Advice for everyone

Eco Design Advisors can consult with homeowners and professionals working on home building or renovation projects.
