The Quality of Life Survey is a biennial survey of resident perceptions of well being in New Zealand's larger urban areas. The random survey of 7,000 respondents includes a sample of around 500 Christchurch residents.

The Quality of Life Survey(external link) is part of the wider Quality of Life Project, which is a partnership between New Zealand's largest councils, and includes Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Hutt, Porirua, Christchurch and Dunedin City Councils. Two regional councils (Waikato and Greater Wellington) also participate.
