Cruise ship visits

Akaroa Harbour is still the primary destination for cruise ships visiting Canterbury during the 2013/14 season, due to earthquake damage in Lyttelton Harbour.

Depending on the size of the vessel, each cruise ship could have up to 2000 passengers on board. Occasionally, more than one cruise ship will visit Akaroa Harbour at the same time, resulting in a higher number of visitors in the town.

The cruise ship season this year runs from 15 October 2013 to 1 May 2014.

For more information about what cruise ships will be visiting Akaroa and when, go to the Cruise New Zealand website.

Note: Information on the schedule is subject to change depending on things such as weather conditions.
