We are renewing the existing path surfaces for improved pedestrian safety and access throughout the park from the Sydenham Cemetery to Studholme Street and around the toilet block out to Woodard Terrace. |

Details
- Sections of this existing footpath will be closed to the public during the construction activities.
- Temporary footpath access will be put in place during the construction period which, the public will be directed and advised to use throughout the duration of this project.
- The site will be fully fenced to create a safe working space for the contractor and to act as a separation barrier to the public.
- Spotters will be on site to safely assist pedestrians around the construction zone during this time.
- There will be heavy machinery operating on this site with construction plant and vehicle movements taking place during the day.
- There will be a moderate increase of noise and activity in these areas of Somerfield Park during the construction process.
- The works will be staged in sections to minimise public disruptions.
- A CCC approved Arborist will be on site at all times to monitor the excavation activities and to advise the contractor during this construction process.
- The playgrounds will remain open during the works.
- Construction access to the site will be from off Woodard Terrace and through the Sydenham Cemetery.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
