It is that time of year again with the South Island Wine & Food Festival 2020 happening on Saturday, 5 December.

With more than 40 wineries showing their wares, along with live entertainment and tasty food, this years event is sure to be popular.  

Since the festival is all about our excellent South Island wines, make it a stress-free travel day and have a designated driver. 

If you can't find a willing driver, consider a taxi or take public transport(external link)

The bus stop, on Rolleston Ave, will remain open. 

The taxi drop off point will be on Rolleston Ave, outside the Christs College Assembly Hall. 

Whichever way you want to travel, make sure that you plan your journey to get there and back again with the minimum of fuss.

The gates open to festival-goers from 11 am with the festival ending at 7 pm. 

There will be no car-parks available at the venue. 

A number of on-street car parks are available on the surrounding streets of Armagh St, Park Tce, Montreal St & Cranmer Sq. However, these are limited in number so, first in will be first served.

If you are dropping friends and/or family off at the event. There will be a number of traffic restrictions in place in the surrounding area from Armagh St Bridge on to Rolleston Ave. 

  • There will be no right-hand turn from Rolleston Ave to Armagh St at the Hagley Park Bridge. 
  • There will be no right-hand turn from Park Tce onto the Hagley Park Bridge 

Traffic on Park Terrace, and the surrounding streets, will be busy on Saturday from around 11 am and again from around 5 pm till just after 7 pm. Please remember that car parks will be at a premium, around North Hagley Park, during these times.
