Traffic Impact
The top section of Dyers Pass Road, from above the Sign of the Takahe to the Sign of the Kiwi, is CLOSED to traffic at night between 7 pm and 6 am Sunday to Thursday nights.
At all other times, the road is reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals in place 24/7 at three sites on the Port Hills for the installation of new safety barriers.
One site on the city side of the hill.
Two sites on the Governors Bay side of the hill.
Each site may have up to 10-minute delays, with an accumulated delay of approximately 30 minutes to clear all three sites.
This work is expected to be in place until the end of September 2021.
