State of the environment monitoring programme

The Resource Management Act 1991 (Section 35(2)) requires Christchurch City Council to monitor the state of Christchurch’s natural and physical environment. Our monitoring programme looks for changes in the quality of the environment arising from either natural or human causes. The result of this monitoring is information that guides and informs the management of environmental resources.

Our programme considers environmental pressures, the state of the environment and our responses.
