Public Amenity Signing Policy

That as a matter of practice the following public amenities be signed in accordance with the Transit New Zealand Manual on Traffic Signs and Markings:

Group I amenity signs

  • Information Centre toilets
  • Car Park Airport
  • Railway Station Arts Centre
  • Art Gallery Botanic Gardens
  • Cemetery Crematorium
  • Hospital Library
  • Museum Refuse Station.

Group II amenity signs

  • Post Office Service Centre
  • Citizens Advice Bureau Community Centre
  • Recreation Centre Sports Club
  • Shopping Centre Church
  • School.

Note: Group I signs include metropolitan facilities that would automatically qualify for signing.
Group II signs include local amenities where some discretion on signing (due to isolation) is required.
The Traffic Manager is responsible for administering this policy.
