Southern Motorway Closures (City Bound)
The New Zealand Transport Agency wishes to advise that there will be scheduled night closures of the Southern Motorway for city bound traffic from Lunns Rd to Barrington St, during the following period:
22nd March 2012 to 26th March 2012 (inclusive).
This is to facilitate the construction of the Curletts interchange as part of the Christchurch Southern Motorway Project.
A clearly marked detour via Lunns Rd/ Annex Rd/ Birmingham Dr/ Wrights Rd/ Lincoln Rd and Barrington St will be in place during the closures.

If you are planning an activity that will block or interrupt road traffic or pedestrians on a public street, you must obtain consent from Council for a temporary road closure. Temporary road closures can be caused by:
- works such as construction, utility repairs, excavations, road resurfacing
- events such as road races, street parties, or parades
