Council Elections



Every three years local authorities in New Zealand hold elections on the second Saturday in October using the postal voting method.



By-election for Shirley–Papanui Community Board member

Progress results show Jo Byrne is the highest-polling candidate in the Shirley–Papanui Community Board by-election.

Voting closed at noon on Friday 29 August 2014. So far, 11,410 votes have been received. The progress results show:

The progress result does not include special votes and voting papers returned today before voting closed. With at least 178 ordinary votes plus special votes still to process, it is hoped that the final declaration of results will take place early in the week commencing Monday 1 September.
