The Council has adopted the Christchurch City Long Term Plan 2015 – 25 which sets priorities for the next 10 years and beyond.
The Plan lays out what work the Council will do, when, and how to pay for it.

Draft long term plan
- The financial strategy deals with an estimated funding shortfall of $1.2 billion resulting from the need to fund earthquake recovery and higher infrastructure costs
- The infrastructure strategy deals with plans for fixing horizontal infrastructure such as roads and sewers, and repairing or rebuilding damaged community facilities.
- The Long Term Plan consultation document explains Council proposals for handling significant issues facing the city.
