Dazzling lighting displays will transform the Botanic Gardens into a night-time wonderland when it hosts Botanic D'Lights later this year.

The five day event in early August will see four designated locations within the Botanic Gardens become a canvas for light installation artists.

Lost Vegas has been chosen as the theme for this year's Botanic D'Lights and Christchurch City Council is currently calling for expressions of interest from artists keen to take part.

Artists have until April 20 to submit their ideas.

Those selected to take part in the event will receive advice and technical support and up to $5000 in financial support.
