The North Hagley Community, Sports & Recreation Trust would like to build changing rooms, including showers and toilets, on one of the former bowling greens in North Hagley Park.
The facility will be open to the public, providing toilets in an area that is well used by community sports groups. The trust will pay for the building and all ongoing maintenance.
Proposed new changing rooms in North Hagley Park
The trust already leases this council-owned land and a variation to the lease is required to accommodate the new building. The proposed ground floor area of the single storey building is 299.87 square metres. It complies with the Christchurch District Plan and the trust will need to apply for a building consent.
