Calling for further submissions on a proposed private change to the Christchurch District Plan relating to Homebase extension.

This Private Plan Change seeks to rezone approximately 4.7975ha of land located on the south-west corner of Marshland Road and QEII Drive to the north of the existing Homebase retail centre on Marshlands Road from Residential Suburban zone to Commercial Retail Park.  

The land comprises 229 and 241 Marshland Road, and part of 24 Sanctuary Gardens and 215 Marshland Road.

The scope of the plan change is to:

  • rezone the land from Residential Suburban zone to Commercial Retail Park by amending Planning Map 25A;
  • remove references to the Mairehau Final Development Area from the District Plan (delete 14.3.i.i.l,, and Figure 5); and
  • amend Chapter 15 Rule by adding a new rule that applies a 32.4 degree recession plane at the western boundary of the site.
