Which parks and pools have BBQ's?

Fixed BBQs are provided at many of our parks but these cannot be booked, they are available for everyone to use.
However, you can take your own gas BBQ to a park and into our summer pool facilities for a picnic.

Gas BBQ's cannot be taken into the Botanic Gardens.

Please note: Gas BBQ's only are permitted on parks due to risk of fires.

The following Parks have fixed BBQs available for public use and these have been converted to electric start and are now free to operate by pushing the button for 15 seconds.

- Groynes, Johns Road
- South Hagley and North Hagley
- Spencer Park, Heyders Road
- Heathcote Domain, Port Hills Road
- Barnett Park, Main Road
- South Brighton Domain, Beatty Street
- Hagley Park near Lake Victoria
- Titirangi Reserve, Titirangi Cresent
- Ouruhia Domain, Chenery Lane off Marshlands Road
- Thomson Scenic Reserve , Summit Road


Scarborough Park, The Esplanade:
Push and hold button for 3 seconds and it is free to operate.

Lyttelton Pool: has a small home style BBQ which costs $5.00 to hire; or is free with private hire of the pool. Bookings to be made with the Pool Supervisor.

South Hagley and North Hagley Both free and electric start

Halswell and Waltham: pools also have coin operated BBQ's $1 gives 14 minutes, 50c gives 7 minutes approx. These BBQ's cannot be booked and are available for everyone to use.

We only book BBQ's for special occasions and never more than one at a time to allow the public to have continual access to them.

Centennial: has one coin operated BBQ - $1 = 14 minutes approx.

QEII: Has two big gas bbq's on trolleys - just like the usual ones we all have at home. The cost is $10.00. Bookings are recommended. Contact the main reception to speak to the Duty Manager.

Cooking time - as long as required or until the gas bottle runs out!

The Duty Team arrange for it to be set up and ready to go, at the required venue, i.e. pool solarium etc.

Pioneer: Pioneer also have a small home style bbq and costs $10 to hire. Bookings are made through the front desk at Pioneer.

BANKS PENINSULA
No BBQs are provided on Council parks but you can take your own gas operated BBQ. Gas BBQs only are permitted on parks due to the risk of fire.
