Kids Edible Gardens (refer to website link below) are implementing organic gardening in schools so that children learn how to grow their own vegetables, flowers, herbs and fruit.
The above gardens are run by community groups who organise organic vegetable garden plots and people from the community work for free in the garden to learn about horticulture and receive vegetables in return for their work.
Any surplus vegetables produced are given to community events or foodbanks. Some run free community lunches.
