What can I do about rubbish, contained or accumulated on private neighbouring properties (including food premises) causing a nuisance (offensive odour, flies, vermin) ?

You will have to contact our Environmental Investigations team or Health Licensing Team and provide details of location of the complaint and the type of nuisance that concerns you.

If the smell is coming from a food premises - contact Health Licensing.
If the smell is coming from other premises - contact our Environmental Compliance Team.
If there is smoke/steam coming out (and it's not on fire!) - contact Ecan for air discharge consent.

For known and unidentified foul smells e.g.smelly compost heaps, horse manure piled up against a neighbour's boundary fence making people sick: contact our Environmental Investigations team (excludes waste water and rubbish dump odours).
