Where can I scatter ashes ?
Ashes can be scattered anywhere, including rivers and Council parks and reserves (except Botanical Gardens due to the different nutritional plant requirements). The Council does not have a bylaw or policy on this aspect of ashes disposal. However, it should be noted that a plaque or memorial stone will not be permissible in many areas.
Please be considerate and sensitive to the feelings of other people when scattering ashes in public.
