Can I get access along the beach to Waimakariri river mouth for fishing?
Yes, for fishing purposes only, not 'off-road' four wheel driving. Contact the Rangers at Spencer Park or the Council's Customer Centre.
The Spencer Park Rangers will issue you with a key, beach permit and sticker for your vehicle. Please contact their office to make a time to collect the key.
The conditons of access will be outlined and a fee of $25 charged. The fee contributes towards the cost of the key and permit system and the maintenance of a toilet at the Spit end.
