Does the Council fund individuals for sport purposes?
The Council does not fund individuals for sport related projects.
Other funding options are available as outlined below:
Local pubs and bars, through Gaming Machine Societies (funded by gaming machines) fund local sports, clubs, groups and individuals. You could contact your local pub direct to see if they have this facility.
Secondly, the Lions Club funds and supports local groups and individuals on a regular basis. You could have a look in the phone book for a Lions Club contact or contact the Lions Club National Office, PO Box 6442, Wellington phone (04) 384 7559 Fax (04) 801 6114.
You could also access the Fundview and Breakout websites to see what other non-Christchurch City Council funding options are available. Fundview and Breakout brochures are available free of charge at Council Service Centres and Libraries.
