Where can I submit and pay for a consent application?

The Christchurch City Council is only able to offer lodgement of Building Consents, Project Information Memorandum (PIM) and Resource Consents at ‘A’ Service Centres, that is

  • Civic
  • Sockburn
  • Linwood
  • Lyttelton
  • Akaroa
where technical support is available to interpret plans and specifications.

‘B’ service centres offer a drop off and pick up service - but the plans will be vetted at an ‘A’ service centre before lodgement. When an application is dropped-off at a 'B' Service Centre it must be accompanied by a deposit cheque.

What should you do if you want to submit a Project Information Memorandum, Building Consent or Resource Consent at a ‘B’ Service Centre?

    Please provide:
  • Application form
  • Associated check sheet
  • Correct payment (cheque)
  • Full consent documentation

You will be given a customer transaction record confirming date, type of application and amount of cheque.

What happens after I have dropped off my consent at a ‘B’ service centre?

The consent will be sent via our courier system to an ‘A’ service centre where it will be vetted for completeness before lodgement. If complete it will be lodged, an invoice will be raised and receipted then posted out to the applicant.

Please be aware if your consent is incomplete it will be returned to the applicant.
