Kids in Town

Education Level: Primary and Intermediate

Kids in town is an excellent opportunity for children from schools in the Christchurch Region to demonstrate their skills in the filed of music, art, dramatic performance or any other interesting areas that they or their school may be involved in. Concerts are held between 12.00 pm and 1.00 pm and usually run for 30 minutes to 1 hour at the City Mall Amphitheatre. If weather is wet, the concert is moved inside the Christchurch Cathedral. The Programme runs through the school year.

The Christchurch City Council is responsible for the promotion and coordination of Kids In Town and will:

• Provide an opportunity every Thursday for Primary or Intermediate Schools to perform in town.
• Pay for transport to and from town to allow this to happen.
• Provide sound equipment when necessary.
• Organise dates and times in conjunction with the schools.
