Coast to the High Country Programme

The Coast to the High Country programme is a three-day environmental education field trip for Year 6 to 13 students. It offers:

visits to a range of locations throughout Canterbury from Pegasus Bay to Craigieburn Forest
guest speakers from the Christchurch City Council, Environment Canterbury and the Department of Conservation
three full days of experiential and hands-on activities
facilitated by a registered teacher from World Wide Fund for Nature – NZ
low risk/high interest activities
Mountain Safety Council approved safety plan
two nights accommodation at the Environmental Education Centre of NZ, Craigieburn Forest
curriculum themes: living communities, human impacts, freshwater, sustainability, resource use, and heritage.
