Karamu (shining) (Coprosma lucida)

Shining karamu is a small tree or shrub with thick glossy leaves, which are paler underneath. Shining karamu looks quite similar to karamu.

As for all coprosma species, the male and female flowers are on separate plants. The berries can be quite red. The bark of shining karamu is pale.
