Mayor Bob Parker

The Christchurch City Council on 30 June 2009 adopted a forward-thinking 10-year plan for our city.

More than 1300 submissions were received from individuals, groups and businesses across the city in response to the projects and services outlined in our draft plan, which was released for public consultation in March.

In May, the Council held public hearings so we could listen to those of you who wished to be heard and learn more about what you wanted for the city.

A number of changes were made to the proposals set out in the draft plan as a direct result of these submissions and a number of other developments over the past four months, such as the funding that was freed-up when the Government announced it would fund $15 million toward the AMI Stadium redevelopment.

The final report will be available online and at Council service centres and libraries from 1 August 2009. In the meantime, you can see some of the highlights by clicking here.

If you would like to contact me, I am always interested to hear from you.
