Kids in Town

Kids in Town is a free concert programme produced by the Christchurch City Council and held on Thursday lunchtimes at various inner city locations in Christchurch.

These programmes provide local primary and intermediate schools the opportunity to entertain the public and showcase their talents in front of public audiences.

Performances may include orchestra, Kapa Haka, choir, dance, culture groups or theatre, and usually two schools feature between 12pm and 1pm.

Where: at different locations around Christchurch city including South City Mall, Re:START Mall, Ice Station at IceFest. For a schedule of venues and dates click here.

When: Thursdays, 12pm–1pm, beginning Thursday 30 August through to Christmas.

Weather and cancellations: When Kids in Town is performing at South City Mall, as it’s an indoor venue we will perform if raining. While performing at IceFest, because there is no indoor venue we can access, concerts will be cancelled if it’s raining heavily. When at Re:Start, we will confirm a new venue if raining.
