This website reports on the headline and key indicators identified for each of our City's nine Community Outcomes (2006–2012). It is a useful source of summary information across a broad variety of issues.
About our City's makeup
The purpose of the project was to find out more about the city’s makeup and social services that operate in Christchurch. The report includes information on local demographic and social trends, social service provision and funding as well as people’s perceptions of key issues and strengths.

Christchurch's over-65's
This report aims to provide an overview of the processes that are causing Christchurch’s population to age and the demographic makeup of those aged 65 years and over who reside in Christchurch.
Perceptions on the quality of life
This report is based on the results of the Quality of Life Survey carried out in late 2004. The Quality of Life Project and Christchurch City Council’s Community Outcomes Monitoring series are part of a process of engaging the Christchurch community in dialogue about a range of life issues that impact on people’s lives.
Quality of life
This project began as an initiative to jointly monitor changing social conditions in our largest cities (Auckland, Christchurch, Manukau, North Shore, Waitakere and Wellington) and later grew to include more cities and a broader range of social and economic factors, creating a broader 'quality of life' focus.
Demographic profile of Maori
This report aims to provide an overview of various indicators on Maori living in Christchurch City. This indicators include ethnicity, population growth, age and gender profile, deprivation and distribution within the city, tribal affiliation, education, employment, income, health, family, crime, marital status and tenure.

These pages provide easy access to the 2006 Census of Population and Dwellings information relating to Christchurch City. It covers a variety of census variables including housing, education, marital status, occupation and qualifications. This data is at city wide, ward and area unit (suburb) level.
