Learning Through Action

The Christchurch City Council offers a range of environmental and city infrastructure programmes that are free to schools.  The programmes provide relevant and authentic learning experiences through hands on activities.

The programmes are based at different sites in Christchurch's:

Programmes cater for students from new entrants to year 13. They are linked to the NZ Curriculum and sit with the future focus of sustainability.  Learning Through Action is supported by the Ministry of Education as a Learning Experiences Outside The Classroom (LEOTC) provider.

All programmes are free and approximately 2.5 hours with some full day programmes.  Follow the links above to find out more about the individual programmes we offer.

Book in your class now

It is simple to book in, just follow these steps:

  • Choose a programme
  • Complete a separate online booking form for each class
  • Download a RAMS

Note: due to limited availability we suggest booking a minimum of five weeks in advance
