  • Target Sustainability provides free support, tools and case studies to help Christchurch businesses become sustainable through reducing waste and by being energy and water efficient. Recycling Directory, Waste Exchange and Telephone hotline services are also provided by Target Sustainability.

  • Take the first step toward environmental performance with Envirostep a free, entry-level management tool for small to medium enterprises.
  • The Canterbury Development Corporation provides support, training and networking to encourage business excellence and innovation in Canterbury.

Did you know

Over 100 Christchurch businesses have joined the Target Sustainability Programme or the Sustainable Business Network and are working to reduce their energy, water and waste.

Seed funding provided by the Sustainable Initiatives Fund Trust has helped establish numerous recycling businesses in the city. Projects supported include the recycling of construction and demolition wastes, agricultural plastics, plastic supermarket bags, and turning waste wool into insulation and sound proofing.
