Central City bag collections

The Council provides a rubbish and recycling collection service for residents and businesses in the Central City.

Rubbish is collected in 50 litre red plastic bags, nightly. To ensure collection, bags must be at the kerbside between 5pm and 5:30pm and not weigh more than 15kg. Only those items that are allowed to be placed in a rubbish wheelie bin should be placed in the rubbish bags.

Recycling is collected in 50 litre yellow plastic bags, weekly on Wednesday evenings. To ensure collection, bags must be at the kerbside between 5pm and 5:30pm on Wednesdays and not weigh more than 10kg. Only those items that are allowed to be placed in the recycling wheelie bin should be placed in the recycling bags.

Rubbish and recycling bags are available for purchase from the Council's Civic Offices on Tuam Street and some supermarkets and convenience stores located within the Central City.
