How the service works
For Banks Peninsula residents not on a kerbside collection route, there are community collection points where domestic quantities of rubbish and recycling can be dropped off. The amount of rubbish and/or recycling dropped off by a resident should not exceed the amount that can be placed in the kerbside wheelie bins. Properties not on a kerbside collection route pay a part Waste Minimisation Charge on their rates.
| Colour of skip | Description of waste | Quantity that can be dropped off each fortnight |
| Red | Household rubbish | 140 litres |
| Yellow | Household recycling | 240 litres |
Ensure you use the collection points correctly:
Read the Waste Management Bylaw 2009 for the full list of terms and conditions around use of the community collection points.
