Schools, businesses and community groups are urged to sign up to the Christchurch City Council’s Readynet system to help them be as prepared as possible to cope with any civil defence emergency.
The Readynet system will help the groups to develop an emergency action plan, which is then stored in a secure and encrypted website. The information forms a database about organisations and groups throughout the city, which will help with planning and response when an emergency occurs. The sort of information gathered includes the number of people on site, a site map, details of people with special needs, and the site / groups primary contact details.
For more information on the system please see the Readynet brochure [PDF 152KB].
To register with Readynet please phone the Christchurch City Council call centre on (03) 941 8999 , or email civildefence@ccc.govt.nz
